In the Heritage Room: Amy Brinton Trosino

October 27, 2008

Amy Brinton Trosino: Silentry is on view in the Heritage Room through Friday, 11/14 during regular library hours.

The artist, who holds an advanced degree in illustration from the Savannah College of Art and Design, makes drawings and mixed media sculpture almost as a form of meditation.  Rather than beginning with an idea in mind, Ms. Trosino simply begins drawing delicate and highly detailed abstract images, letting the work suggest itself as it develops, and letting it tell her what it is about.

The public is invited to a reception for the artist on Sunday, November 9, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., in the Heritage Room.

On Friday, November 14, Ms. Trosino will talk about her work in the Heritage Room from noon to 1:00 p.m.

In the Heritage Room: Latinas en Lenawee

September 22, 2008

As part of the College’s celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, we are hosting a photography exhibit in the Heritage Room.

Latinas en Lenawee highlights the contributions that many Hispanic women have made to the county. The display includes women from the U.S., Mexico, Guatemala, and Ecuador. The women represent the diversity among Latinas in the county in terms of careers, age, education, country of origin, and other characteristics.

The display was organized by Idalí Feliciano, Director of Multicultural Programs at Adrian College and Don Cellini, a faculty member in the Department of Modern Languages and Cultures.

The exhibit runs through October 10th during normal library hours.
